Government memo to help film, AVP workers

The government has taken a step ahead in helping improve the working condition and occupational safety and health of workers in the film industry and those involved in audio-visual production.

In a Joint Memorandum Circular with the Film Development Council of the Philippines, the Department of Labor and Employment has set the guidelines governing the promotion of the welfare of audio-visual production workers.

FDCP to help quarantine-affected audio-visual workers

“The FDCP DEAR (Disaster/Emergency Assistance and Relief) Program is not a one-off initiative. Though this was inspired by the COVID-19 crisis, we want to learn from this and make sure that the agency is better prepared in handling such cases in the future. As a permanent program of the FDCP, this disaster fund will be activated every time there is an emergency and the State of Calamity declared by the President,” FDCP Chairperson and CEO Mary Liza B.
